H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma

Chair of the H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma Foundation, Initiator and Leader of the MAMA-LIGHT® Initiative for Sustainable Energy

H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma is a Mossi Princess from Burkina Faso and a leading representative of the traditional authorities in Africa. She is the Initiator and Leader of the MAMA-LIGHT® Initiative for Sustainable Energy, recognized by United Nations as one of the 14 breakthrough solutions achieving the SDG’s. She brings over 20 years of experience of rural development and working with local communities.

H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma is internationally recognized as a role model for empowerment of the less fortunate, for recognizing the importance of the informal sector and for unleashing the potential of women and youth in developing countries.

She is the Administrator of the secretariat of the “West Africa Solar Pack” and the Chair of the H.R.H. Princess Abze Djigma Foundation. She served as deputy head of delegation of the COP23, COP24 and COP25 delegations of Burkina Faso: as Member of the African Union – European Union Digital Economy Task Force; as Member of the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) Technical Committee; and as Board Member of UNDRR Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies and Energy Focal Point.
